(Healthy) Summer Drink Recipes

It’s that time of year. Spring and warm weather are here and it’s the perfect weather to enjoy your favorite cold drinks.

You have more daylight than ever, you throw your windows open, and your front porch has become your best friend in the evenings.

Unfortunately, our favorite drinks are often riddled with empty calories, way too much sugar, and chemicals that we can barely pronounce. Below is our guide for flavorful, refreshing summer drink recipes that won’t add inches to your waistline!

Frozen Mint “Lemonade” :

Ingredients:

¼ cup fresh, rinsed mint leaves
½ cup lemon juice
½ cup water
1 ½ cup ice

Directions:

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend well until “slushy” consistently
Serve immediately

Infused Green Tea:

Ingredients:

5 green tea bags
1 quart pitcher
2 cups of preferred fruit (we suggest raspberries, oranges, or strawberries)
2 tablespoons honey or agave nectar

Directions:

Place tea bags, fruit, and honey (or agave) in quart-sized pitcher. Fill pitcher with hot water, and allow to sit for 20 minutes. Remove tea bags and refrigerate overnight.

Watermelon Lime Slush:

Ingredients:

1 cup ice
1 cup watermelon
2 tbsp. lime juice
1 tsp. honey

Directions:

Add ingredients to a blender and mix until frosty. Serve immediately.

Cucumber Lemon Detox Water:

Ingredients:

1 whole cucumber, washed and sliced
2 lemons, sliced
1 quart pitcher

Directions:

Place sliced lemons and cucumber in pitcher, fill with water, and place place in fridge. Allow to infuse overnight.
