Spending hours in the gym is never the ideal way to fill your time. Thankfully, strategically placing 10 Minute workouts throughout your day can help you reach your fitness goals with a fraction of the time commitment!
Breaking up your workout throughout the day makes your day less boring, it’s a great way to take a break from work, your workout is customizable, you can take it anywhere, and you don’t need a gym membership!
How is this even possible?
We know, we know. You can only get fit by spending hours in the gym.
Now, if your goals are bodybuilding or working with a personal trainer, then yes. You need a gym. However, simply being trim and fit is for EVERYONE, not just gym rats and iron-pumpers.
The solution we propose is this: break up your daily workout into 10-minute segments throughout the day.
No “”if’s”, “and’s”, or “but’s”!
The whole point of breaking down your workouts this way is that it’s much easier to find small, 10-minute increments throughout your day rather than a larger block of time, such as 1-2 hours.
Can you even GET a good workout in only 10 minutes?
You sure can! In fact, less is often more when it comes to effective workouts. A great example of this is HIIT (high intensity interval training) workouts.
Working out in a shorter period of time with little rest, constant movement, and with bursts of intensity, more effectively targets belly fat, works your whole body, and torches calories in little time.
So how many should I do?
The good news is this; in order to reap all the health benefits of working out, doctors recommend 30 minutes to an hour each day.
This means that 3, high intensity ten-minute workouts each day, puts you on par with doctor-recommended health habits!
When should I do them?
First, we challenge you to think about your average day. It probably involves waking up, getting ready, eating breakfast (because you should never skip breakfast!) and going to work until about 4 or 5 pm.
Then you get home, run some errands, have plans with friends or your family, eat dinner, go to bed.
Maybe it’s even more hectic than that!
Maybe you’re a business owner or busy parent. Maybe your career or life has you doing a lot of running around.
No matter what your situation, we now challenge you to think of all the 10-minute pockets in your day.
Ten minutes, people.
Ten minutes before you start preparing for you day in the morning. Ten minutes outside of your office building or even IN your office.
Ten minutes while you watch your favorite sitcom in the evenings. Ten minutes while you wait for your oven to preheat. Ten minutes before bed.
Ten minutes while you’re waiting for your washer cycle to be complete.
The list goes on!
But you get the point. If you can find three ten-minute time slots on your day, you’re golden. All you need is yourself, a decent amount of floor space, and workout clothes.
So I have ten minutes. What do I do?
There is SO MUCH you can do with ten minutes! We recommend alternating full-body movements such as burpees, push-ups, jumping jacks, squat jumps, and planks for 30 seconds to 1 minute at a time, taking only a 10-20 second break in between each move.
